Welcome to the Cuyuna Lakes Chamber of Commerce website! The Cuyuna Lakes Chamber serves the cities of Bay Lake, Crosby, Cuyuna, Deerwood, Emily, Ironton, Riverton and Trommald. Our area has loads of outdoor fun to offer everyone!
Enjoy live music by The Great River Strings and The Altius String Quartet at Cuyuna Lakes Chamber’s Music in the Park event at Crosby’s Memorial Park on Thursday, July 25, 5 to 8 p.m. This is a free, family-fun event with musical entertainment food, games and more.
Great River Strings is the community’s orchestra, ages 6 to 86, serving the playing and listening appetites of the Cuyuna Lakes, Aitkin, Brainerd and surrounding areas of Central Minnesota.
The Lakes Area Music Festival brings 180 all-star artists from around the world to the Brainerd Lakes Area for performances at Tornstrom Auditorium. LAMF has created a new String Quartet Fellowship program for the summer of 2019 and has selected the Altius Quartet of Boulder, CO from an international pool of applicants, to serve as the inaugural fellows. Altius Quartet is an ensemble determined to further the art of chamber music through performance, education, and outreach.
This week’s Music in the Park is sponsored by AutoSmith Service Group of Ironton. They will be serving complimentary hot dogs, chips, water, smoothies, and cinnies (miniature cinnabuns) will be served.
The event will also feature yoga by Uplifted Wellness Studio of Crosby. The Traveling Art Pub of Brainerd will have $10 make-and-take canvases available, so be sure to explore your creative side!
Chamber Director Jessica Vukelich explained, “Adults will enjoy the beautiful, music, yoga, and art. Children of all ages can try out their skills to win prizes at the many games we have planned. In addition to sponsoring the event, AutoSmith will be bringing and parking their tow trucks, providing kids the opportunity to experience life-size vehicles and interact with community support leaders. It all adds up to a fun night for everyone!”
Bring lawn chairs or blankets, sit back, and enjoy the evening while overlooking the spectacular views of Serpent Lake. The Cuyuna Lakes Chamber of Commerce schedules Music in the Park events the second and fourth Thursdays throughout the summer. For more information, visit www.cuyunalakes.com or call 218-546-8131.
